Frontier College for Women team clinched the overall trophy by securing 40 points in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Inter-College Games, which concluded here on University Campus on Tuesday. Member Provincial Assembly Sumi Falak Naz was the chief guest on this occasion. VC Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Professor Dr. Razia Sultana, former World Champion Qamar Zaman, Miss Shaheen Umar, President of the Sports Committee, Deputy Director Sports Mariyyah Samin, officials, players and large number of university students were also present.
Speaking on this occasion, MPA Sumi Falak Naz appreciated the University for organizing its 9th Annual Day Sports by involving female students of all 36 affiliated colleges in healthy sports activities. She urged the students to take active part in sports. She said such like activities in the school and colleges is essential for giving due opportunities to the students to excel and exhibit their hidden talent.
Earlier, the chief guest awarded trophies, cash prizes and certificates to the position holders. FCW won the overall trophy by securing 40 points, followed by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University with 39 points, and City Gulbahar.
Ayesha Khan of SBBWU was declared as the best players of the Games as she besides participating in other Games also won three gold medal in 100m, 200m and long jump and silver medals in shot put and 400m race. The overall athlete trophy also won by SBBWU with 32 points, followed by Bacha Khan with 32 points and FCW with 22 points.
