The Karachi Port handled 190,411 tonnes of cargo comprising 136,792 tonnes of import cargo and 53,619 tonnes of export cargo including 9,272 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 136,792 tonnes comprised of 63,897 tonnes of containerised cargo; 426 tonnes of bulk cargo; 12,630 tonnes of rock phosphate and 59,839 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 53,619 tonnes comprised of 47,602 tonnes of containerised cargo; 167 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,100 tonnes of talcum powder and 750 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 9,272 containers comprising of 4,886 containers import and 4,386 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,480 of 20's and 1,497 40's loaded while 214 of 20's and 99 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,245 of 20's and 811 of 40's loaded containers while 601 of 20's and 459 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely AS Aries, Xin Yan Tai, Liana, Chem Ranger and Rickmers Hamburg carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Wieland, SM Vancouver, BW Tiger, Oriental Acacia, Chembulk Jakarta, Europa Bay and World Era-3 carrying containers, oil tankers, rock phosphate and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 122,516 tonnes comprising 107,278 tonnes of import cargo and 15,238 tonnes of export cargo including 2,516 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 107,278 tonnes includes 20,200 tonnes of LNG; 5,751 tonnes of diesel oil; 12,430 tonnes of palm oil; 3,771 tonnes of palm kernel; 18,617 tonnes of coal; 12,443 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 1,500 tonnes of mogas and 32,566 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 15,238 tonnes includes 15,238 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,516 containers comprising of 1,714 containers import and 802 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There was one ship namely Flex Ranger carrying LNG sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely Medi Serapo carrying canola seeds is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, palm kernel, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as fifteen vessels viz. Xin Hua, Thor Madoc, Indigo Flora, Nord Traveler, Heroic Striker, Alani, Clorice, Caspian Gas, Al-Nouman, BW Panther, Pike, Dory, Melati-6, Able Sailor and NCC Sama respectively carrying soyabean seeds, coal, chemical, LPG, LNG, palm kernel, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, Bulk Titan, Xin Hua, Clorice and Al Nouman carrying containers, coal, soyabean, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Wednesday
There were two ships namely MOL Grandeur and Bulk Titan carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while two more ships namely CMA CGM Al-Maviva and Hugo Schulte carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
