Bangladesh's state grains buyer has issued a new international tender to purchase and import 50,000 tonnes of wheat, traders said on Wednesday. Tender closing date is July 3, they said.
The grain can be supplied from any worldwide origin except Israel. Wheat with 12.5 percent protein content was sought for shipment 40 days after contract signing, they said.
Offers should be for c&f liner out terms, which include provisions for ship unloading. Bangladesh's last wheat tender, also for 50,000 tonnes, was held in May. Bangladesh has turned to imports of wheat from more distant suppliers, especially the Black Sea region, because supply from India has dwindled as India wheat is used to meet growing domestic demand. Bangladesh's output has stagnated at around 1 million tonnes.
