The Karachi Port handled 119,014 tonnes of cargo comprising 104,285 tonnes of import cargo and 14,729 tonnes of export cargo including 4,812 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 104,285 tonnes comprised of 47,971 tonnes of containerised cargo; 744 tonnes of bulk cargo; 37,711 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 2,711 tonnes of Ammonium; 35,000 tonnes of coal and 17,859 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,729 tonnes comprised of 12,829 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,812 containers comprising of 2,686 containers import and 2,126 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,594 of 20's and 533 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 13 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 321 of 20's and 173 of 40's loaded containers while 521 of 20's and 469 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Chemroute Pegasus, Marios G, Ginga Panther and Asphalt Alliance carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and bitumen respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. MOL Gateway, KOI, Octaden, R Ocean and Ginga Panther carrying containers, oil tankers and chemical respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely YM Bamboo, Ever Decent, MOL Gateway and Maru A carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely ETE N carrying containers is expected to sail on Saturday.
There were five vessels viz. ETE N, Libra, Hansa Regensburg, Tatjana and Capetan Vassilisi carrying containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday while seven vessels viz. Cosco Rotterdam, MSC Chiara, UAFL Zanzibar, MT Karachi, MT Shalamar, Aeriko and Liberty Promise carrying containers, oil tankers, rock phosphate and vehicle respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 93,163 tonnes comprising 74,904 tonnes of import cargo and 18,259 tonnes of export cargo including 1,862 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 74,904 tonnes includes 24,000 tonnes of palm oil; 23,200 tonnes of coal; 8,800 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,570 tonnes of palm kernel; 215 tonnes of roro and 17,119 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 18,259 tonnes includes 18,259 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,862 containers comprising of 901 containers import and 961 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were three ships namely CV Tucapel, MV Navios Oriano and MT Silver Entalina carrying containers, coal and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Friday.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV Tucapel, MV Alliance Norfolk, MV Dewi Saras Wati, MV Ocean Princess-1, MV Navios Oriana, MV Coventry, MT Maersk Pearl and MT Silver Entalina were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, Roro, palm kernel, bitumen, canola seeds, coal, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seventeen ships namely CV CMA CGM Mumbai, MV Amadeus, MV Stahia, MV Shan Dong Chong, MV Arcadia, MV Spring Melody, MT Maria-III, MT Lion-M, MT Glorious, MT Freight Margie, MT Wall Eye, MT JO Pinari, MT Silver Entalina, MT Chembulk Shanghai, MT Atlas, NCC Qamar and MT Phonik carrying containers, soyabean, coal, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV MSC Chicago, CV CMA CGM Mumbai, MV Arcadia and MT Chembulk Shanghai carrying containers, coal and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday.
There was one ship namely CV Safmarine Nyassa carrying containers due to arrive on Friday. There were three ships namely CV CH Chinook, CV Libra and MV Industrial Revolution carrying containers and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Saturday.
