Peshawar Electric Supply Company has urged its consumers to adopt precautionary measures to avoid electrocution and electric shocks for their own safety, especially during pre-monsoon rains in the province.
In a press statement issued here on Thursday stated that the Pesco management has requested the consumers with the specific context to the anticipated pre moonsoon rains, to please adopt all precautionary measures and not to touch cables and poles because due to rains these may be electrified, so to avoid electrocution and electric shocks for your own safety and do not touch them.
It further stated that that public should adopt all safety measures which include, to properly "earthen" your electrical appliances and replace or tape all worn out wires and not to touch electrical appliances / cables with wet hands. It also urged the consumers to be careful and attentive while using Electric Water Pumps and other Electrical appliances.
According to the statement, it was requested to the public to tie their pets and cattle with the poles and towers. Females are also requested to avoid usage of metal wires for drying clothes and not to touch the washing machine with wet hands without switching it off. Please keep a mate under your foot while pressing the clothes.
Life is very precious gift of God and it is our primary duty to secure our lives, so people are requested to inform and report the concerned PESCO offices in case of any damaged cable or damaged pole immediately. Public as well as PESCO employees are once again requested to please ensure adaptation of all the safety measures.
PESCO employees are requested to please ensure adaptation of all the safety measures, while working on the lines and transformer, which includes , earthling of the pool from both ends, be careful from Neutral and Street Lights, make sure to use safety belt, Halmets, Rubber Shoes, Cotton Cloths and Rubber gloves and other safety equipment, while working on line. Above all DON'T WORK ON LINE without Permit to work."
