As many as 200 proposed candidates for the upcoming general elections 2018 obtained nomination papers from the Election Commission office on Tuesday. However, no one has yet submitted nomination papers and most of the candidates are visiting the election commission office for obtaining nomination papers. The Election Commission office would provide nomination papers until 8th of June. Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali of Tehreek-e-Labbaik also obtained nomination papers on Tuesday. It may be noted that the number of candidates obtaining nomination papers has doubled in first two days.
Sources said Mariam Nawaz will contest from one of the two constituencies - NA-125 and NA-127 - while she would also file nomination papers for provincial assembly election from PP-149. Yousaf Ahad, brother of Hamza Shahbaz-fame Ayesha Ahad, also obtained nomination papers to contest elections from NA-123.
