KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the projects initiated by the PTI government will be completed in any circumstances even after the expiry of the period of the provincial government. He said that all these projects are carried out with the financial assistance of the Asian Development Bank.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connections with the foundation stone laying of Damthor-Bypass in Abbottabad. Besides, provincial minister for food, Qalandar Khan Lodhi, Advisor to CM for C&W, Akbar Ayub, chairman, District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC), Sardar Mohammad Idrees, District Nazim, Ali Khan Jadoon, MNA Dr. Mohammad Azhar Jadoon, Commissioner, Hazara Division, Mohammad Akbar Khan, D.I. G Hazara Range, Saeed Wazir and concerned military authorities were also present on the occasion.
The chief minister announced that Damthor-Bypass road would be constructed through Frontier Works Organization (FWO) within a period of nine months. The construction of Havilian to Damthor (Abbottabad) bypass is 18.325 kilometers long and 7.4 KM wide road will cost Rs 1.47 billion. The contract has been awarded to FWO, which will complete it within a period of nine months.
Pervez Khattak said that the people of Abbottabad have suffered difficulties due to traffic problems, saying the PTI government had always made efforts for bringing the people out of such situation. The construction of Bypass, he said will retrieve the people of Abbottabad of grave traffic problems.
He said that motorway and bypass roads are two mega projects of Abbottabad. The motorway is being constructed for last twenty years while the KP government will construct 18-kilometer long bypass in a period of only nine months. The contract of the project has been awarded to FWO, whose reputation and standard and timely completion of work is recognized, he said. He added that two big projects of road construction in Haripur at the cost of Rs 5 billion will also be completed on time. The project is financed by Asian Development Bank.
He said that PTI never considered the construction of roads and buildings as mega projects rather it considers bringing reforms in the governance, health, education and police like sectors and supremacy of merit and justice as actual mega projects.
