Turkey's lira slipped to another record low against the dollar on Friday as investors fretted about President Tayyip Erdogan's reported criticism of monetary policy and fresh reports of government efforts to have interest rates reduced.
The lira touched an all-time low of 4.0665 before recovering slightly to trade at 4.0615 at 1108 GMT. It also touched a record low of 4.9758 against the euro.
It is down nearly 6 percent so far this year, making it the fourth-worst performer among some 26 emerging market currencies.
