The Planning and Development Department (P&D) is launching Punjab Health Survey (Round 2) 2017 report today. According to the documents, the survey is a part of the process for promoting evidence based decision making, to track results and progress in the key areas of immunization of children, skilled birth attendance, breast feeding, post-natal care and home visits by LHVs.
The survey report will help Health Department to chalk out its future strategies for complete immunization of children from 12 to 23 months of age in all 36 districts of province'
The areas of antenatal and postnatal care have also shown improvement.
According to official sources the efforts made by the health sector have brought in significant improvement in immunization coverage and skilled birth attendance.
The survey results also highlight the areas and the population groups that need attention of the stakeholders. There is however also an urgent needs to design and implement interventions to focus on the identified target groups and low performers. Improving the health of the people is at the heart of our policies and it is good to see that the Health Reforms Roadmap has started producing the results.
They said that the government is determined to ensure that our population has access to quality health care service within the minimum possible time.
The Punjab Health Survey is a great initiative that not only helps us to gauge the progress and appropriateness of the intervention, but also provides us an opportunity to review out efforts and take corrective measures.
