Karachi-based scorers have been assigned their first task in Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday when its final match was being played at National Stadium. The scorers also play an important role in a cricket match. But, for four scorers, some of whom even served in domestic cricket for a quarter of a century, it was for the first time they have been assigned first task since PSL's first edition to date.
One of the scorers told Business Recorder at National Stadium that it has been his first assignment in PSL. PSL has rightly been attributed to have given emerging players not only a platform to showcase their talent but has also provided them with an avenue to earn. Unfortunately, same cannot be said for Karachi-based scorers, who have dedicated their lives to cricket, but, have not been given their due share.
According to a source, PCB has been unable to hire its scorers for PSL because provision of scorers was a part of PCB's contract for grounds in UAE.
