UK Diabetes Conference: research papers of Pakistani doctors appreciated
As many as three research papers, presented by Pakistani doctors serving at Lahore General Hospital, have earned a lot of appreciation and applause from the participants of Five Day UK Professional Diabetes Conference 2018 held at London. Pakistani doctors covered the issues of causing factors, treatment and increasing ratio of diabetes in Pakistan in their research papers which the largest research work was presented by various scholars at the conference.
This was informed by Assistant Professor Medical Unit 2 Dr Maleeha Hameed and Dr Salman Shakeel who participated in the conference, at their return during their meeting with Principal Professor Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab. Their super-wiser Professor Imran Hassan Khan also attended the meeting. Dr Maleeha and Dr Salman told that their research papers were on topic of diabetes among women during pregnancy, foot injury caused by diabetes and causes of Type 2 diabetes.
Their views were keenly too listened by the participants. According to their research, the ratio of being diabetic patient among Pakistani young people is on the rise and 78 percent of such patients suffer at only 45 year of age. They told that major causes of this disease are obesity and to avoid exercise. On this occasion, Professor Ghiyasun Nabi said that the need of research in health sectors has increased many fold in order to combat diabetes and other diseases.
