Pakistan Day parade on Friday was also attended by Indian diplomats especially Defence Attaché posted in Islamabad, officials said. According to the Foreign Office (FO) sources beside other diplomats, Pakistan Day parade was also attended by Indian Defence Attaché posted at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
They said it was a routine matter as diplomats posted in both the countries attend such events, adding that Pakistani diplomats in India also participate in Indian Republic Day marked every year on January 26. Sources within defense circles as well as in FO said that such days have a great significance to the diplomats of the each country to witness the military hardware of rival countries.
They said as per international diplomatic norms, the government of Pakistan sends invitation letters to all the diplomatic missions in Islamabad on the days of national importance and it remains up to the diplomatic missions to attend or not attend the event.
