The Karachi Port handled 163,329 tonnes of cargo comprising 134,751 tonnes of import cargo and 28,578 tonnes of export cargo including 7,522 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 134,751 tonnes comprised of 81,458 tonnes of containerised cargo; 16,851 tonnes of general cargo; 13,442 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 7,800 tonnes of rock phosphate; 5,642 tonnes of soyameal and 23,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,578 tonnes comprised of 12,336 tonnes of containerised cargo; 708 tonnes of general cargo; 4,334 tonnes of wheat and 11,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,522 containers comprising of 5,373 containers import and 2,149 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The breakup of imported containers shows 2,108 of 20's and 1,513 of 40's loaded while 23 of 20's and 108 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 159 of 20's and 339 of 40's loaded containers while 38 of 20's and 637 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely X-Press Kailash, Virgo, Oriental Jasmine and Heilan Brother carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. Hyundai Splendor, Sima Genesis, Sydney Trader, Athens Bridge, FPMC-21 and Glovis Spirit carrying containers, oil tanker and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely STI Executive carrying mogas sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely Athens Bridge and FPMC-21 carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. There were seven vessels viz. Ever Delight, Houston Express, MSC Pilar, YM Orchid, Willet, Reem-3 and Lake Sturgeon carrying containers, oil tanker, bitumen and mogas respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while three vessels viz. Wide India, Al-Safa and DA Liang carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 191,103 tonnes comprising 153,778 tonnes of import cargo and 37,325 tonnes of export cargo including 3,507 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 153,778 tonnes includes 54,000 tonnes of LNG; 9,003 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,700 tonnes of palm oil; 10,053 tonnes of canola seeds; 38,400 tonnes of coal; 1,211 tonnes of project cargo and 37,411 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,325 tonnes includes 8,103 tonnes of crude oil and 29,222 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,507 containers comprising of 1,969 containers import and 1,538 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely MV Le Cong and MT Lumphini Park carrying general cargo and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships namely CV MSC Albany, CV Express Kailash and MV Young Harmony carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels viz. CV MSC Albany, CV Express Kailash, MV Da Liang, MV Le Kong, MV Young Harmony, MV Union Explorer, MV Daphne, MT Ejnan, MT Glorious and MT Lumphini Park were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, canola seeds, coal, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV MSC Al-Ghero, MV Kobe Star, MV Panorama, MT Star Sirious, MV Sky Ploeg, MV Hony Future, MV Spring Cosmos, MT Maria-III, MT Quetta, MT Lion-M, MT Brizo, MT Constantinos and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, general cargo, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, chemical, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Al-Ghero, MV Kobe Star, MV Sky Ploeg, MV Hony Future and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, general cargo, steel coil, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were seven ships namely CV Suez Canal, CV CMA CGM Indus, CV Maersk Atlanta, CV Tucapel, CV Prosper, MV BBC Nile and MT Quetta carrying containers, project cargo and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
