On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,337. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 8.079 billion and the number of lots traded was 12,794. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 3.298 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.551 billion, copper PKR 1.202 billion, WTI crude oil PKR 483.051 million, DJ PKR 465.958 million, platinum PKR 405.559 million, silver PKR 366.356 million, NSDQ100 PKR 118.512 million, SP500 PKR 94.710 million, natural gas PKR 84.209 million and Brent crude oil PKR 9.409 million.
In agricultural commodities, 23 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 13.758 million and 18,255 lots of red chilli amounting to PKR 3.248 million were traded.
