The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Monday notified creation of one new district and three news tehsils in various divisions of the province. The KP government in exercise of the powers conferred under sections 5 and 6 of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Land Revenue Act, 1967 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act XVII of 1967) created District Kolai Pallas Kohistan out of the existing District Kohistan Lower.
The name of Sub Division and Tehsil of District Kolai Pallas was Pallas while it had 498 villages, said a notification of Board of Revenue, Revenue and Estate Department.
Similarly, the government declared Lower Tanawal area in District Abbotabad as Tehsil. The area consisted of 01 Kanungo Circle, 05 Wards, 10 Patwar Halqas and 64 Mouzajat. Baffa Pakhal area in district Mansehra had also been notified as Tehsil with immediate effect. The area consists of 02 Kanungo Circles, 15 Wards, 26 Patwar Halqas and 87 Mouzajat. Darband area in district Mansehra had also been notified as teshil with immediate effect. The area comprised of 01 Kanungo Circle, 03 Wards, 06 Patwar Halqas and 31 Mouzajat.
