Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has announced that it will take up in the parliament the issue of granting no objection certificate (NOC) to former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to assume the command of Saudi-led military coalition.
According to media reports, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhary has stated that PTI will raise the issue in the parliament. He stated that issuance of NOC to the former COAS is not an individual but a policy matter and there is need to convene a session of the National Assembly to take the parliamentarians into confidence.
Fawad Chaudhary, according to media reports, further stated that Pakistan had refused to participate in the Middle East conflicts during the joint sitting of the Parliament on the issue. "Now grant of NOC should also be sought from the Parliament," he added.
