On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Saqib Raza Aslam, eight teams comprising officials of the district administration carried out door-to-door anti-polio campaign in Shaheen Muslim Town, a high risk area of polio disease and administered polio drops to the children of the refusing parents.
During the campaign, the teams of district administer persuaded the parents of 80 children and administered them polio drops while eight persons were arrested for refusing the administering of polio drops to their children.
The special teams which carried out campaign on Sunday were included officials of district administration, revenue and polio staff.
The campaign will continue till the administering of polio drops to the children of all refusing parents.
The Deputy Commissioner, Peshawar, Saqib Raza Aslam has appealed the people of Peshawar to administer vaccines to children to protect them from the crippling disease and eradicate polio from the city.
