Advisor to Prime Minister, and Pakistan Muslim League-N Central Senior Vice President, Engr Amir Muqam has criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for using public wealth and helicopter for party affairs and election campaigns. He was addressing a press conference at press club on Sunday. PML-N leader said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan repeatedly claims transparency, accountability but his provincial government had turned government helicopter into a 'rickshaw or taxicab'.
Flanked by many senior party leaders including provincial General Secretary Rahmat Salam Khattak, provincial Secretary Information Nasir Khan Musazai, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Haji Muhammad Afzal and others, he said that the PTI member of KP Assembly Gul Sahib Khan had used the helicopter for inauguration of uplift schemes in Karak which took off and landed at least at three different places like taxicab.
He said that a PTI leader Zar Gul also used helicopter for travelling to his village at Kala Daka and then to Kohistan for his election campaign in the by-election on PK-62 and then to Northern Areas, saying that he was not entitled to avail this costly facility. Similarly, another minister, he said, had flown in the same helicopter to Lakki Marwat for inspection of a school.
Amir Muqam said that his party was seriously considering a proposal to take legal action against the provincial government for its abuse of public funds and misuse of the facility of helicopter; the provincial government's 'wrongdoings' would be brought to the notice of National Accountability Court and Upper judiciary as well.
Besides, the PM advisor flayed the provincial government for splitting Kohistan into three districts just to win over the sympathies of the people in elections. He said whatever the provincial government was doing in Kohistan was pre-poll rigging, sheer violation of rules and it was duty of election commission of Pakistan to take notice of the same.
The PML-N leader said that PTI led government's lavish spending of public wealth was no service to the nation rather it was injustice with poor masses of the province on part of PTI and Imran Khan was duty-bound to take stern action against the concerned CM and other party leaders.
He also condemned KP government for allegedly compelling Maulana Asmatullah of JUI-F from Kohistan to resign for the reason that his area would be given district status. He said if the former MPA had joined PTI then he deserved to get the party ticket for the by-elections but the party allotted ticket to another candidate from another district of Kala Daka.
