Fence-installation has begun along Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Saturday as Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa announced the development during his visit to Mohmand and Orakzai agencies on Saturday. Inter-Services Public Relations reported army chief's visit on Saturday and stated that soldiers deployed in Soran and Kalaya met with General Bajwa. While addressing the troops, the CoAS said that fence-installation had begun along Pakistan-Afghanistan border and that secure border between the neighbouring states was mutually beneficial.
He said it was military's priority to install fences in dangerous zones like Bajaur and Mohmand agencies. The army chief held inclusion of Federally Administered Tribal Areas in mainstream a process that was in the best national interest. He said the implementation on development projects would bring speedy stability and peace in the area. General Bajwa further said the nation was proud of the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army. He paid tribute to martyred Major and two soldiers in an action against terrorists.
Pakistan-Afghanistan border was sealed earlier this year, both at Chaman and Angoor Adda, over escalated tensions. Pakistan demanded off Afghan government to take action against terror outfits that were using its soil against Pakistan.
