Pakistan Day message: Bilawal for cementing relations among federating units
As the nation is celebrating the Pakistan Day today, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed the need for cementing relations among federating units in the spirit of Pakistan Resolution passed on March 23, 1940 in Lahore.
In his message on the occasion, the PPP Chairman has extended felicitations to the citizens. He said it was high time to fulfil the dreams of the founders of Pakistan who laid foundations for an egalitarian Muslim nation based on justice, peace and equality.
Bilawal pledged that as a true torch-bearer of the ideology of Pakistan and mission of our founders, the PPP would continue to march towards their goals and mission without looking back. "Celebrating this great day in our history, let us carry forward this mission with all our capabilities and capacities to achieve the status on the world map as a model Muslim nation," he added. Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto felicitates newly elected office-bearers of PFUJ.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also extended felicitation the newly-elected office-bearers of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and assured full cooperation from his party for protection of journalists and freedom of press. In a congratulation message to Afzal Butt and Ayub Jan Sarhandi who were elected as President and General Secretary of PFUJ respectively in elections held in Quetta, Bilawal eulogised the journalist fraternity for upholding and strengthening democratic traditions among their cadres.
Media persons have greater role to play in promoting democracy in the country to create a society-based on justice and fair-play, he added. PPP Chairman said that every segment of our country needs unity and brotherhood to promote culture of tolerance and patience, while the journalist community has special responsibility of maintaining a balance in coverage and reporting. Media literacy is the key to a vibrant media and its readership/viewers, who may be well-educated to differentiate between news, propaganda and media-trial, he added.
