Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that the missing CNIC numbers of criminals in Criminal Record Management System (CRMS) should be obtained from NADRA by providing their photos, names, parentage and addresses. He said that Director General NADRA has already issued instructions to their staff in this regard. An officer of Punjab police will act as a focal person for NADRA so that entry of missing CNIC numbers of criminals should be ensured.
The IGP further said that concerned DSP must personally contact the complainant regarding complaints received through IGP Police Complaint Center 8787. Show cause notices should be issued and immediate departmental action be taken against the DSPs who, instead of contacting the complainants by themselves, handover this task to their subordinates. Shkhera stated this during a high-level meeting held here at the Central Police Office on Monday.
