PU Counsel gets last opportunity for submitting reply

The Lahore High Court on Monday gave last opportunity to Punjab University's counsel and adjourned to March 14 a petition challenging functioning of equivalence department of the varsity. The court observed that prima facie the functioning of equivalence department of the PU was illegal and unconstitutional.
Sheraz Zaka argued on behalf of the petitioner that the sole prerogative to recognise degree was vested with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) under higher education commission ordinance 2002.
The HEC in its paradise comments against the Punjab University has also stated that the equivalence department of Punjab University is illegal.
