Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that the success of societies is closely linked to the pursuit of education and knowledge which their young generations are following. To make efficient development of the country possible, he added, we need to appreciate the talent and merit and utilize all the available resources and the potential.
He expressed these views while talking at the ceremony arranged in honour of a group of gold medallists of Gandhara University here at Governors House, Peshawar on Wednesday. The ceremony was also attended by Mrs Roeeda Kabir, Chancellor, Gandhara University, Professor Dr Abdussalam, Vice Chancellor of the University, Faculty Members, gold medallists and their parents.
The Governor while appreciating the achievements of the gold medallists said that there is no dearth of talent in our province and the only need is to support and encourage them. He said education plays a pivotal role in the progress and prosperity of societies and nations.
The teachers, he said, can play pivotal role in the development of any society. "It cannot be without the great efforts of the great teachers that the students have come up with these excellent results. If you have good teachers you will get good graduates" he added. He congratulated the gold medallists and said that their achievements are also a source of pride and honour to their parents and worthy teachers.
He urged the graduates to march ahead with courage and confidence and win an honourable position for them and for beloved country through their future endeavour. The Governor further stressed that the government; the parents of students and the society as a whole have great expectations to the graduating professionals and hoped that all of them will come up to their expectations.
