National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has arrested accused Faiz Muhammad Executive Engineer (XEN) Highway Division Kurram Agency C&W Dept and Nadir Khan Contractor for alleged involvement in embezzlement of Rs 60 million for construction of roads in Kurram Agency (FATA).
FATA Development Authority (FDA) allocated Rs 80 million for the construction of 6.5 Km shingle road from Malota to Shagai and 3.5 Km single road from Daradar to Zora top which is a mineral bearing area having soapstone deposits. The FDA handed over the said work for execution to the Highway Division C&W Dept Kurram Agency.
During the course of inquiry it was revealed that the execution of the above said work has not been done, while fudge payment has been made on the account of the roads. Thus the accused persons in connivance with each other managed to embezzle more than 60 Million rupees and pocketed the same.
