The Karachi Port handled 118,873 tonnes of cargo comprising 92,391 tonnes of import cargo and 26,482 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 92,391 tonnes comprised of 45,829 tonnes of containerised cargo; 25,371 tonnes of general cargo; 13,271 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,000 tonnes of coal; 358 tonnes of livestock; 4,913 tonnes of rock phosphate and 7,920 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,482 tonnes comprised of 26,082 tonnes of containerised cargo and 400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were seven ships namely Kota Lembah, Rio Cadiz, Hyundai General, Milos, Arion, Al Masi and Girolando Express carrying containers, oil tankers, rock phosphate and livestock respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Express Black Sea, Taroko, YM Excellence, Mid Falcon and Magic Seas carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Express Black Sea and Mid Falcon carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while three ships namely Taroko, Maliakos and Oriental Sakura Race carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were four vessels viz. Ever Divine, DL Violet, Mare Tracer and U Lucky carrying containers, caustic soda, coal and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while eight vessels viz. Kota Kaya, MOL Experience, SC Qingdao, AL Dasma, MT Quetta, Mohar, Valiant Ace and Eastern Light carrying containers, oil tankers, cement, vehicle and steel respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 138,683 tonnes comprising 106,269 tonnes of import cargo and 32,414 tonnes of export cargo including 2,404 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 106,269 tonnes includes 38,319 tonnes of diesel oil; 17,300 tonnes of palm oil; 17,200 tonnes of coal; 5,520 tonnes of chemical; l4,668 tonnes of canola seeds and 13,262 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 32,414 tonnes includes 32,414 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,404 containers comprising of 698 containers import and 1,706 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were three ships namely CV MSC Valencia, MV Chemstar Masa and MT FPMC Fortune carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV Al-Bahia and MT Bunga Angsana carrying containers and palm oil are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV MSC Valencia, CV Al-Bahia, MV Chemstar Masa, MV U Noble, MV Marco, MT FPMC Fortune and MT Bunga Angsana currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, chemical, coal, canola seeds, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as eight ships namely CV APL Charleston, MV Lumphini Park, MT Maria-III, MT Nordic Gas, MT Shalamar, MT Pacific Energy, MT Harmony-1 and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, phosphoric acid, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven vessels viz. CV MSC Esthi, CV Maersk Hartford, CV APL Charleston, MV Lumphini Park, MT Shamal, MT Nordic Gas, and MT Shalamar carrying containers, chemical, LNG, LPG and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were seven ships namely CV MSC Esthi, CV Maersk Hartford, MV Chance, MT Shamal, MT Bneider, MT Pacific Energy and MT Navig8 Aquamarine carrying containers, soyabean seeds, LNG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while two ships namely CV Maersk Stepnica and MV Gaschem Antartic carrying containers and chemical respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
