At least three people including a woman were arrested after a police chase ended near Nowshera on Sunday. It began when Motorway Police attempted to stop a white Corolla XLI bearing number plate CA- 116 near Peshawar toll plaza but the driver and two occupants in the vehicle sped off.
Police resorted to firing when the speeding vehicle took u-turn towards Swabi. A suspect identified as Mujahid was detained as he was dropped near Marathi interchange.
Police chased the car onto the main road, and finally caught up with the vehicle in Torro locality near Nowshera. A man and a woman were taken into custody for questioning.
Police have also recovered a pistol from their possession. There were no injuries to the officers or occupants in the car during the pursuit.
