National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights Thursday expressed displeasure over negligence of National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) for not sending the brief to the committee members well in advance. The meeting of the committee was held here in the chair of MNA Babar Nawaz Khan.
The committee members declined to get briefing from the NCHR officials for their failure to send briefing to the members for advance study.
The committee members expressed their displeasure over negligence of the relevant commission officials while chairman of the committee directed the chairman NCHR to look into the issue.
The committee chairman lamented that necessary directions for this briefing have already been given to the NCHR but still they do not bother to send the brief in time.
The committee decided that a meeting with same agenda will be held in the first week of next month and directed the chairman NCHR to make sure the attendance of all NCHR members during the next meeting and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
The secretary NCHR earlier briefed the committee members about recruitment policy of the commission and ensuring of transparency in the whole process.
After briefing of chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), the committee directed that a female desk should be established in approximately all police stations across the country. The committee also said,"We should have to do efforts for the comprehensive legislation for the transgender community."
