Activists of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) from various agencies of Fata have demanded form the party's central leadership to announce the Fata organising committee without further delay, to strengthen the party in tribal region.
Addressing a news conference at press club on Wednesday, former chief organiser Fata and PTI leader from North Waziristan Agency, Dr Bashir Ahmad Khan said that a two members committee, comprising of PTI Deputy Secretary General MNA Murad Saeed and Chaudhry Aitezaz, was formed in this regard. He added that the party workers had proposed recommendations to members of the committee last year. He said the committee had finalised its recommendations and submitted to the PTI Central Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen, but he was yet to formally announce Fata organising committee.
Flanked by PTI former president South Waziristan Agency, Afsar Khan Mehsud, former president Bajaur agency, Member Khan, Abdul Razzaq Shinwari from Khyber Agency, Ateeq-ur-Rehman Advocate from Orakzai Agency and others, Dr Bashir urged the party central leadership and members of committee to take decision regarding organising head and members of Fata organising committee with consent and taking into account the opinion of tribal people at each constituency or at agency level.
He called Dost Mohammad and Shahid Shinwari as self-proclaimed Chief organiser and Secretary General of the Fata organising committee, which took several decisions during last one and half year in Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
But, he said PTI organising setup had been dissolved following the constitution of two members committee for Fata. He asked the party leadership not to listen to the elements who were scheming to divide the party in the tribal region. However, he said the PTI workers were united and warned that they would not accept hegemony of few influential people in Fata.
