Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar on Tuesday once again warned departmental heads of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to ensure timely presence at offices, or else, they would be removed from the posts. Presiding over a meeting of the KMC departmental heads at his office, he said: "Those who don't want to come at office on time and fulfill their responsibilities honestly, they should resign and go home."
Akhtar further said that it is the responsibility of the departmental heads to make it sure that all his subordinates join offices on time regularly and remain present on their job places. If anyone fails to do so, he would be removed from his post, he alerted. He said that there are complains that the officials are receiving bribe from contractors and this malpractice must be stopped now.
He also asked the doctors and paramedical staff to shoulder their responsibilities with professional honesty and dedication otherwise stern action would be taken against them, as well. Mayor asked the officials to dispatch their respective departmental files via postal service through the newly-established 'Received and Issued' department. The Mayor office will not accept submissions that are not referred following this order, he made it clear.
