German ski-jumpers produced the first ever women's spodium sweep at Ljubno on Sunday albeit in the absence of Japanese stars Sara Takanashi and Yuki Ito. Katharina Althaus won with efforts of 92.5m and 90m ahead of Olympic and world champion Carina Vogt and Svenja Wurth, who was on her first ever senior World Cup podium.
The feat sends Germany into the World Championships in Finland in ten days time with every hope of retaining their individual world championship title.
But 11 of the 16 events so far this season have been won either by runaway overall standings leader Takanashi or Ita and the pair were away on national training.
