I am pleased to extend my warmest congratulations to the whole team of FPCL on the inauguration of Coal Power Plant. I am proud to have been part of this hardworking and dedicated team. It is a moment of great pride for all of us that we have translated our vision in to a reality as we witness the start of full operations of FPCL.
The Coal Power Project has numerous distinctive features. It is the first Coal Power Plant to achieve financial close in year 2015 through consortium of local banks. The dedication of our team along with strong support from our leadership has enabled us to achieve the shortest time, ie 24 months in total, between construction and operations in Pakistan for a project of this scale.
Keeping healthy environment and low emission as a major priority, Pakistan's first state of the art and first of its kind fully covered coal storage yard has been constructed at site by FPCL. Its completion without a single fatality and lost time injury (~21 million man hours) is a testimony to our commitment towards safety in the corporate industrial sector. Commendable leadership and restless dedication resulted in completion such a large project in a very short period of time.
The guiding principles for the Fauji Group have always been innovation, competitiveness and fulfilment of our social obligation. Each day, we endorse our resolve to adhere to these high set standards and leverage them to conquer new frontiers.
I congratulate and thank everyone who took part in implementing this project. I wish success to all the team of FPCL and I am certain that our work together in this as well as other high-tech co-operation areas will produce tangible and noticeable results which will contribute to our economy.
I would also like to congratulate FFBL and each member of its team for their dedication and hard work without which this would not have been possible. You deserve to be proud of your achievement.
May our future endeavours be equally successful and rewarding. Ameen
