Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) stalwart and bigwig from district Charsadda, Tahir Khan Umarzai and his son Babar Khan Umarzai along with friends and family members, joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He made this announcement during a news conference at press club here on Monday, in the presence of Advisor to Prime Minister, Engineer Amir Muqam and a large number of provincial leaders and workers of PML-N.
Speaking on the occasion, Tahir Khan Umarzai said that he had joined PTI two decades ago, under the ideological vision of change and self-accountability. But, he said PTI has miserably failed to implement its agenda and manifesto accordingly.
Instead of breaking the 'status-quo' in current political system, Mr. Umarzai criticised that PTI chairman Imran Khan has moved 'one-step' ahead with nurturing culture of 'status-quo' within the party.
He further came down hard on PTI, by saying that Imran Khan had used people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for his vested interest, and disrespected the public mandate. He added that Imran Khan has only kept focus on Punjab province, besides dreaming to become Prime Minister of the country, but didn't accomplish anyone of them.
Keeping in view the prevailing circumstances, he said he is joining Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, by resigning from the basic membership of PTI.Amir Muqam, on the occasion, welcomed the joining of PTI stalwart, Tahir Khan Umarzai, and termed him as diamond and ornaments for the PML-N. On behalf of Prime Minister, and PML-N, he congratulated Mr Umarzai, his son and friends for choosing the PML-N. He assured that the party would give them due status and positions.
He further maintained that it exposed a visible manifestation of public mistrust on PTI led provincial government, as the ideological PTI stalwarts are becoming part of the N-league with each passing day. He hoped that a large number of ideological workers would soon join PML-N in coming days.
