Tribal youth leaders have demanded of the government to implement the proposed Fata reforms agenda in its true letter and spirit and called for immediate integration Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Addressing a news conference at press club here on Saturday, Fata Youth Forum, Central President Aamir Afridi said that the government should enforce the proposed recommendations of Fata reforms committee led by Prime Minister Advisor Sartaj Aziz, should be implemented.
In this regard, he added that any delay would be sheer unjust with tribal people, which had rendered matchless sacrifices and miseries under the present circumstances in the tribal region. The tribal youth leader came down hard on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakhtun Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai over their opposition towards Fata-KP integration. He said that if the both leaders were favoring holding of referendum in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, should also make similar demand to conduct such exercise in Hazara division, and Karachi. He asked the JUI-F and PkMAP leaders to refrain from political point scoring on name of tribal people.
Flanked by Chairman Fata Students Federation (FSF), Javed Bajauri, Central President of FSF Essa Khan Orakzai, President Khyber Students Federation, Roman Afridi, and others, Afridi said that a large number of tribal people had been affected by ongoing militancy and terrorism in Fata. He said tribesmen are being faced miseries, but the leaders of JUI-F and PkMAP had never raise voice for them. He said Fata should not be kept further in dark, and it was time to repeal the draconian Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) from tribal region, to ensure all fundamental rights to tribal people.
The tribal youth leader stressed that the reforms will open new vista of development progress, saying that new industrial zones, local bodies elections, construction of roads, universities and other development schemes have been proposed under the 10-years long reforms package for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. He demanded that the government should extend facilities and incentives to tribal youth under the proposed Fata reforms agenda. He called for immediate implement the recommendations of the reforms committee in its true letter and spirit, and to merger Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without any further delay.
The tribal youth leaders welcomed the holding of 'Haqooq-e-Qabail' convention on February 06, in federal capital Islamabad and announced to fully participate in the event. He strongly supported the struggle of Fata parliamentarian Shah Jee Gul Afridi for attainment of due rights to tribal people and Fata-KP integration.
