Muhammad Zubair was sworn-in as the 34th Governor of Sindh on Thursday due to demise of his predecessor Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui last month. Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Sajjad Ali Shah administered oath to him at a ceremony at the Sindh Governor's House where Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and other dignitaries attended.
Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony, Muhammad Zubair vowed to work in the best interest of the people and effectively perform his duties as the Governor of Sindh.
Muhammad Zubair was serving as chairman of the Privatisation Commission. He served as Chairman of Investment Board in 2013 and headed Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2004 to 2007. He had got his MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi where he was elected as students' representative to the board of directors in 1980.
Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui was appointed as Sindh governor in November 2016 but he remained ill throughout his tenure and passed away last month.
