In order to avert a security threat, the Lahore police conducted snap checking of vehicles on important city roads on Monday. The DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf had directed the police force to apply barriers on leading roads of the city and inspect all the suspects either on two-wheelers or four-wheelers.
Accordingly, all the SHOs conducted a detailed security check and locked many suspects due to absence of relevant documents.
DIG Operations told the media that the exercise was being made due to a high alert in the city and the objective of snap checking was to mitigate the concerns of terrorist activity. It would further help in controlling crime in the city.
