Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Riaz-ul-Islam was shot dead by unknown armed persons on Charsadda Road in Peshawar here on Saturday evening. Initial reports revealed that DSP Bahadur Khan had departed from his home near Charsadda Road for prayer when unidentified assailants opened fire on his vehicle, due to which he sustained many injuries.
According to SP Furqan, unknown armed men opened indiscriminate firing on DSP Riaz-ul-Islam vehicle on Charsadda Road in Peshawar. As a result of firing DSP Riaz sustained injuries. He was shifted to LRH hospital for treatment where he succumbed to injuries. Heavy contingent of police has reached the area and launched search operation in the area to arrest involved in the attack.
