A day after the deadly suicide blast at Shah Noorani Shrine near Hub, Chief Minister Balochistan Sardar Sanaullah Zehri on Sunday announced to close the Sufi saint's shrine till the investigation into the blast is completed. He said that the Shrine would be handed over to Sindh Auqaf- a department tasked to maintain and regulate prominent Shirnes, mosques and other Waqf properties.
Talking to the media persons after visiting Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) to enquire after the injured of the blast, he said that investigation into the blast was underway.
"The responsibility of the deadly attack has been claimed by the Daish group and it has released footage on the social media as well," he added.
A suicide bomber on Saturday evening blew himself up at Shah Noorani shrine some 750 km south of Quetta leaving over 50 pilgrims dead and more than 100 other injured.
The suicide bomber's boy parts were collected from the crime scene, and the same have been sent for forensic tests. The report will determine the fact, he said.
Zehri said the provincial government has decided to close down the Mazar till the investigations process is completed. It will be reopened after the law enforcers adopt 100 percent security arrangements to the pilgrims. He said police and Levies force's check posts are being set up at the Mazar to ensure fool proof security to the devotees.
He said the country has been facing law and order issues; however the law enforcement agencies were making all-out efforts to thwart the nefarious designs of enemies, who were hell bent upon destabilising the country's peace through covert attempts. "We all have to work together to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the entire country," he added.
To a query Zehri said Balochistan is located in the conflict zone, hence it has facing major security challenges.
He said that the security situation was improving after the launch of ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation and other anti terrorism initiatives by the government. Zehri reaffirmed the resolve that fight against terror would be taken to its logical end. He thanked the government of Sindh for extending cooperation for treatment of the injured of the terrorist incident.
He announced Rs one million the heirs of each deceased and Rs 500,000 for those injured in the blast.
