Prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and prime minister of India Narendra Modi seem to have celebrated Republican candidate Donald Trump's victory in a profound manner, by cutting a 'landmark' civil nuclear deal.
It has been reported that Japan has signed a historic civil nuclear co-operation deal with India, opening the door for collaboration between their industries in the field even as the countries signed nine other agreements in various areas to bolster bilateral ties.
It has also been reported that Japan-India nuclear agreement has come after tough negotiations for over six years between the two countries. Look at the profound naivety of an otherwise highly intelligent Abe: according to him, "This agreement is a legal framework that India will act responsibly in peaceful uses of nuclear energy and also in Non-Proliferation regime even though India is not a participant or signatory of NTP. It (the agreement) is in line with Japan's ambition to create a world without nuclear weapons."
By signing a civil nuclear deal with India, Abe has made no contribution towards his country's efforts aimed at creating a world without nuclear weapons.
