2015 deal still best way to avoid nuclear-armed Iran: May

Published September 26, 2018 Updated September 26, 2018 04:00pm

UNITED NATIONS: Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May said Wednesday that an internationally brokered accord with Iran remained the best way to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons despite Washington's withdrawal from the 2015 agreement.

"It remains the best means of preventing Iran developing a nuclear weapon and we are committed to preserving the JCPOA as long as Iran continues to abide by its obligations in full," May said at a meeting of the UN Security Council chaired by US President Donald Trump.
