Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has won Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections by a wide margin, trouncing its rivals Pakistan People's Party and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf. Aaj News reported late Thursday night that PML-N secured 28 seats while PPP and PTI grabbed two each. Muslim Conference got three of its contestants elected.
Mushtaq Minhas of the PML-N AJK, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed of PPP AJK and Sardar Atiq of Muslim Conference among the successful candidates while Sardar Sultan Mehmood of PTI lost. PPP AJK Chapter has rejected the results, accusing PML-N of manipulating elections through "scientific" pre-poll rigging. Results of 5 seats were yet to be announced.
