KARACHI: The gold markets here remained closed on the second day in a protest against the alleged looting of gold and ornaments from a shop in main Sarafa Bazar in Kharadar area.
President Karachi Saraf Association Haji Haroon Rashid Chand said here Tuesday, that the market will open on Wednesday.
He said that police has assured to find the culprits and book them as soon as possible.
He called the matter a failure of chowkidary system which was earlier going well in the market.
He said burglars stole 4.5 kilo of gold worth Rs 25 million from a shop Sunday night.
Chand urged the authorities to look into the matter and ensure safety and protection of jewellery business in the city.
