Middle East Crude-Dubai edges higher on active trading

Published Updated

SINGAPORE: Middle East crude benchmark Dubai edged higher on Monday amid active trading, while DME Oman's premium to Dubai swaps fell.

IRAQ

* Indonesia's Pertamina has offered 1 million barrels of Basrah Heavy crude oil for loading on Sept. 30, industry sources said. The tender closes on Aug. 14 and is valid until Aug. 16.

Pertamina's crude processing deal with Unipec expired on December last year and the Indonesian state-owned firm is yet to sign another processing deal, the sources added.

"They have had no success in trying to get another processing deal ... so, they have to sell out (in the spot market)," one of them said.

JAPAN

* Japan's Fuji Oil is seeking 500,000 barrels of Banoco Arab Medium crude oil and 500,000 barrels of Qatar Land crude oil for October, trade sources said.

Both tenders close on Aug. 13.

Fuji Oil last bought 750,000 barrels of Murban crude oil for September at a discount of 35 to 40 cents a barrel to the official selling price, traders have said.

QATAR

* Qatar Petroleum has offered two cargoes of 500,000 barrels each for loading over Oct. 4 to 5 and Oct. 26 to 27, trade sources said.

It has also offered two cargoes of 600,000 barrels each for loading over Oct. 28 to 29 and Oct. 29 to 30, they added.

The tender closes on Aug. 14 and is valid until Aug. 15.

MURBAN

* Oil major BP sold 500,000 barrels of Murban crude oil for Oct. 1 to 25 loading to Shell at a discount of 50 cents a barrel to the official selling price (OSP) in RIM's trading board, traders said.
