Pakistan Broadcasters Association condemns the armed attack and killings of media persons in Karachi and Peshawar during the last few days and calls upon the authorities to provide protection to media houses and its staff, says a press release issued on Wednesday. The PBA Board of Directors expressed serious concerns regarding the recent attack on Journalists in Pakistan which is already declared as one of the most dangerous countries for independent media.
PBA was grateful for the appreciation expressed by the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at the GHQ celebration of Defense Day of Pakistan, on September 6th with regard to the positive role of the media in improving law and order situation in the country. PBA directors again call upon the authorities, both government and armed forces to place law enforcing personnel at PBA members' offices so that the media can continue to play its informative and analytical role effectively.-PR
