A spokesman of Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab has said that 19600 tents, 114000 food hampers, 72000 mineral water bottles, 15550 mosquito nets and 10050 plastic mats have been distributed among the flood affectees of six districts so far. He said three time meals have also been provided to one lakh eight thousand 519 flood hit people and 15945 people are residing in 1240 relief camps of affected districts whereas one lakh 56 thousand 43 people have been rescued.
Meanwhile, DCO Khushab Zia-ur-Rehman has said that flood water entered low lying areas of Tehsil Quaidabad due to rains in hill torrents of district Khushab. The administration has evacuated the people from low lying areas and shifted them at safe places. DCO Rahim Yar Khan, Captain Muhammad Zafar Iqbal (Retd) said that the process of distribution of ration among flood affectees is continuing regularly near Simkah bund, Tehsil Khanpur.
DCO Rajanpur Zahoor Hussain told that flood water is gradually decreasing in River Indus at Kot Mithan. Water of hill torrent entered in low lying areas of Aqilpur due to high level of water in River Indus and affected people shifted on the land of Forests Department and tents, ration and clean drinking water have also been provided to them. ADC Dera Ghazi Khan Mehboob Ahmad said there is no new breach at Jhakkar Imam Shah and flood water has already been diverted towards the river.
