SICPA is the leading global provider of secured identification, traceability and authentication solutions and services. Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Prilly-Lausanne, it is a privately owned Swiss company with subsidiaries and joint ventures in key countries, including Pakistan.
SICPA ink-based security features are unequalled
At the core of SICPA's security expertise are high-technology security inks that protect the majority of the world's banknotes and security and value documents from the threats of counterfeiting and fraud. They range from inks developed for printing processes including intaglio, offset, silkscreen, gravure, flexography and numbering, as well as solutions adapted for varnishing and theft deterrence systems. The comprehensive portfolio of SICPA ink solutions is developed by the Security Inks Solutions division to support all levels of authentication - from authentication by the general public, covert solutions for controllers and inspectors, machine-readable authentication through automated systems to solutions exclusively reserved for issuing authorities and forensic investigators.
As an extension of its work protecting Identity Documents, SICPA has also developed new systems for supporting the rapidly evolving requirements of Border Control Agencies, including a secure entry stamp system which interfaces with border management IT.
R&D is at the heart of what we do
SICPA's longstanding reputation for excellence is the result of a strong focus on innovation, enabled by consistent recruitment of high calibre staff in a range of scientific disciplines. High importance is attached to continuous research and development, which is essential to stay ahead of sophisticated counterfeiters and to provide customers and partners with reliable, durable and cost effective solutions.
SICPA systems enhance government revenue collection and promote public health
SICPA's Government Security Solutions Division integrates ink-based features and sophisticated traceability technologies to offer solutions and services to governments implementing product authentication and tax reconciliation systems. The core technology platform is SICPATRACE(r) which is the basis for a variety of systems implemented successfully by governments around the world. The approach starts with the assignation of a secured identity to an item product captured in a government controlled database. This, combined with reliable aggregation capability, permits the product to be followed throughout its lifecycle - secure track and trace. The broad range of data collected is the basis for impactful business intelligence which can be exploited, for example, to improve efficiency of government inspectors...
Furthermore SICPA aims to meet the needs of all stakeholders and prides itself on assuring minimum disruption or negative impact on the manufacturing lines where its systems are in operation.
A major application has been in the field of excise tax protection, an area where fraud is high. The technology has helped governments to increase tax revenues by tackling frauds such as under-declaration and diversion, as well as combating smuggling. Where taxes have been designed to promote health policies, the systems powered by SICPA have direct positive impact on public health and safety.
Increasingly international organisations have seen the advantages of implementing secure track and trace systems on an international basis. SICPA has invested in ensuring that it has developed systems which meet the requirements in a modular way and which are inter-operable with data management systems already in place.
Secure supply chain systems protect brand reputation
In addition to meeting the need of governments, SICPA provides tailored product and brand protection solutions and services to industry clients who need to protect their products and ensure supply chain integrity. Integrated and multi-layered authentication, anti-tampering, identification and traceability solutions are core elements in the offering.
Product integrity can be enhanced through proof of origin, biometric analysis (analysis of inherent product characteristics), material (visible or invisible security elements and authentication devices) and information (on-line and off-line coding solutions) security, combined with supply chain integrity via a multi-site track and trace platform.
Such solutions and services have been delivered to companies in industry sectors as diverse as healthcare, food and beverage, fast moving consumer goods, luxury goods and spare parts.
SICPA is a trusted advisor world-wide
Since it first supplied security inks in the 1940s, SICPA has demonstrated a long and proven track record of stability built on a long-term vision. The consistent growth of the company's business is built on the respect it shows its clients and partners through quality products and services.
SICPA's mission statement is 'Enabling Trust.' Our aim is to provide solutions to our clients so that ordinary people can conduct their business without having to worry about the risks related to counterfeits or illicit products.
Today, SICPA is an international company with offices and factories on five continents, covering an entire scientific and technological spectrum that ranges from ink and polymer technology to specific molecule synthesis, and includes computer science and telecommunications. With about 3000 staff of over 50 nationalities, the company provides technologies and services to most nations world-wide.
