Vacant plots lying in different housing societies of the Federal Capital have turned into breeding sites of mosquitoes. Strangely, the authorities concerned, could not see the link between barren plots and mosquito breeding.
A large number of housing plots in different societies of Islamabad are full with garbage, bushes and rain water and it causes mosquitoes breeding.
Water easily seeps into these plots. However, the owners do not bother to drain out water, thus helping the breeding of mosquitoes.
The societies including Jinnah Garden, Naval Anchorage and Soan Garden and other areas along roads have several vacant housing plots.
As there is no way for water draining and proper cleanliness due to which these plots have become the home of mosquitoes.
Nadir Khan a resident of Soan Garden, Expressway said that the empty plot has become a favourable breeding site for mosquitoes, but none of the authorities concerned is paying attention.
The residents of the area have raised this issue several times before the officials of the societies but to no avail, he added.
Another resident of River Garden Muhammad Naeem said, "Our society have only few houses yet, adding, most of the plots are still empty causing breading mosquitoes."
