LHC dismisses bail applications of ten PAT activists

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Tuesday dismissed bail applications of 10 activists of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) in FIR registered against them on charges of terrorism and killing a policeman. The counsel for the accused submitted that the government registered an FIR against them on political grounds to victimise them for initiating protest movement against the government.
He said the police at the behest of the government registered a fake FIR against them on terrorism charges. Appearing before the court, a prosecutor submitted that the accused were involved in killing of a police man. He said they also damaged public assets and burnt police vehicles. He said by doing this, they spread terror in the area and all sections put in the FIR against them are justified and legally protected.
