Vote rigging allegations: Imran again fails in furnishing evidence, claims Pervaiz
Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has once again failed in furnishing evidence before the Election Tribunal, while recording his statement regarding rigging in NA-122.
Talking to media persons at National Press Club after attending the PFUJ Executive Federal Council meeting, the Minister said that when the election tribunal inquired from Imran Khan about evidence in the support of his case, Khan failed to present any evidence, adding Khan was facing defeat at every front. He remarked that the one standing atop of the container was only to 'entertain' the public, as his party had only nine percent representation in the National Assembly.
He reminded Imran Khan that if economy improved through foreign investment and the war on terror succeeded then any party forming the next government would be the ultimate beneficiary. He said the government was ready for talks and now it was PTI's responsibility to create conducive environment. The Minister said Pakistan was fully determined to eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
He pointed out that national security institutions had launched a decisive war against terrorism as was being witnessed in North Waziristan, Khyber Agency, Karachi, Balochistan and other trouble spots. Pervaiz Rashid said writers, journalists and intellectuals had to fight that war on ideological front to take it to the logical conclusion. He said only a few thousand people gathered at a particular place but an impression was created on television screens as if it was a country-wide phenomenon.
