ISLAMABAD: Microsoft, an American multinational technology company, is set to rival Google News with the launch of a new app called Microsoft News, 23 years after the introduction of MSN.
Microsoft News -- a news engine that curates articles from across the web and delivers them to the users Microsoft feed, the media reported.
The new app is available on both iOS and Android operating systems and can now be downloaded from app stores.
Though, there are tons of new apps out there, the fact remains that people want news from sources they can trust. Reliability is the key word for users, and once they can find a new source they can trust, then the rest becomes history.
Microsoft feels it can leverage on its name to attract people to use the app—the fact that it is one of those companies fighting against fake news is an added advantage.
Moreover, Microsoft News offers you to choose the categories of news you would be interested in and delivers suggestions and notifications accordingly.
It can also serve as the citizen journalism app for city dwellers who want to stay updated with the local news.
