ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday uploaded Form-B depicting statement of assets and liabilities of the contesting candidates of general election 2018 along with affidavit verifying their financial information on its official web portal.
According to ECP, the relevant details have been uploaded of candidates of National and Provincial assemblies from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan besides federal capital to hold free, fair and transparent elections across the country.
The exclusive election watchdog of the country in its surprising move decided to give access to public regarding politicos’ financial status.
Some days back, the commission came up with the idea to public the credentials of a candidate, including financial status.
The move was appreciated by the public at large terming it a good omen for democracy.
